JULY NEWSLETTER
Good morning everyone,
Hello July, where has it gone... Everytime I thought I would get this newsletter out I put it off thinking I would do it later and now we are almost half way done with July. So here it goes.
We have been very busy with the All Iowa SHop Hop that will finish at the end of this month. We have had visitors from Maine, Oklahoma, Texas, Minnesota, North Dakota, Illinois, and those were the ones that I know of. This AISH is great for us, and we have loved visiting with everyone that has stopped at the store. It is always fun when they pull out their phone and show us pictures of their quilts, or what they are working on.
Now onto some store stuff. We are getting ready for another retreat up in Okoboji the month of September. The retreat is from Wed-Wed September 13-20. Susan has invited us to share the retreat information with all of you. The link is posted below with all the information, feel free to check it out. We would love to see you there. We will be closed from Monday the 11th - 23rd. It takes us a couple days to load evryhting, get there and set it all up. Then the fun begins a week later when we take it all down and revamp the store back here. So we will reopen September 25th.

We are going to be doing a block of the month starting at the beginnning of next year. It is Doug Leko's new pattern called Chatsworth. We want to make sure that we have enough pattern books and that we have enough time to order more if needed so we will be pre selling this once they come in. I believe that Doug is going to be doing a sew along with this, and he will provide helpful tips and information as we go along. That is something that will be great. We are going to be doing this pattern in the line from Jen Kingwell. We are hoping to get it all done and out to show by November. Feel free to stop in the store and check the progress. Were hoping to start it in the next couple of weeks. This is the design of the pattern, it would be a great scrap buster with a neutral back ground or a holiday. The possibilities are great on this one. Stop in or call and let us know if your interested in this and want to purchase the book. I have posted the pattern below so you can see it. This line is called Woodland Wildflowers by Moda and we will be making kits in this color way when it arrives in December!
Ok so here are a few other things that I need to mention:
- Starting in August we will be going back to our old hours. Mon-Friday 10:00 - 5:00 and Sat 9:00-2:00
- We also have all of our Live Sales scheduled for the rest of the year.
- July 20th @ 4:00,
- August 17th @ 5:00,
- No Live Sale in September,
- October 19th @ 5:00,
- November 16th @ 5:00,
- December 21st. @ 5:00
For those that do not know we have a SEWCIAL group that meets the 4th Monday of every month. We show projects that we have done or are working on and then we visit about new things and we even do some community projects.
We just donated the 2 quilts that the group sewed, along with 2 others to the St Florian Burn Foundation Burn Camp. those that wanted to each made blocks and then Cheryl was amazing at putting them together and Zoey donated the quilting on them. It was great. We are posting them on the sewcial page when they are given to the campers. The next project is making trick or treat bags for the kids, starting with the preschools kindergarten classes. possibly the 1st - 3rd graders. We haven't gotten the number of students yet so were are unsure how far up we will go.
I think that I packed alot into this news letter so I am calling it for now.
Hoping you all enjoy the rest of the month and hope to see you soon.
